Born on 31st May, 1958. Passed BA from Serampore College and then LLB and LLM from University College of Law, Calcutta. Became a member of the West Bengal Judicial Service, 1987 batch. Worked in various different Civil and Criminal Courts, including Special Courts under Prevention of Corruption Act, Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act etc. Was posted at Andaman & Nicobar Islands as the Deputy Secretary Law. Worked as the District & Sessions Judge for approximately three years while simultaneously holding the post of the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Purba Medinipur. Held the position of the Secretary Law, Government of West Bengal. During the above period, also discharged the duties of the Legal Remembrancer for an extended period of time. Posted as Registrar General, High Court, Calcutta in 2017. Joined the High Court at Calcutta as Additional Judge on 12th October, 2018. Appointed as Permanent Judge of the Calcutta High Court on 24.04.2020.
