Born on January 3, 1948. Passed WBCS (Judicial) Examination in the year 1976 and joined Judicial Service. Was promoted to WBHJS on 12.2.1996. Worked as Secretary in the Judicial Department, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Administration, from 29.9.1999 to 30.10.2001 and as District & Sessions Judge, Nadia, from 11.6.2002 to 6.1.2003. Was called to the Registry of the High Court at Calcutta on 7.1.2003 and worked there till 18.10.2004. Was posted as Joint Secretary in the Judicial Department, Government of West Bengal, on 19.10.2004 and thereafter as District & Sessions Judge, Howrah, on 13.5.2005. Lastly, worked as District & Sessions Judge, 24-Parganas (South), from 13.5.2005. Was Elevated to the Bench of the High Court at Calcutta as an Additional Judge on June 22, 2006.
