Born on February 2, 1948. Did M.Sc. in Pure Mathematics. Passed LL.B. in 1972 and was enrolled as an Advocate on 28.11.1972. Practised in the Tamluk Sub-Divisional Court, District Midnapore (Undivided), for three years in Civil and Criminal matters. Joined WBCS (Judicial) on 25.4.1977. Was promoted to the WBHJS in 1996. Worked as District & Sessions Judge, Darjeeling, from 21.6.2002 to 4.2.2004. Thereafter worked as the Judicial Member of West Bengal Commercial Taxes Appellate and Revisional Board from 11.2.2004. Thereafter worked as Joint Legal Remembrancer, Government of West Bengal from February, 06. Was elevated to the Bench of the High Court at Calcutta as a permanent Judge on June 22, 2006.
