Was born on July 3, 1969 into a family of lawyers, both father and uncle being lawyers of City Civil Court at Calcutta and paternal granduncle being a lawyer of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court’s at Calcutta.

            Was educated in Scottish Church Collegiate School, Calcutta upto Madhyamik and then in B.K.C College , Calcutta upto graduate level in Science Stream.

            Obtained LL.B degree in the year 1994 from University of North Bengal being a student of Jalpaiguri Law College.

            Was enrolled as an Advocate on 14.11.1994 and practiced mainly in City Civil Court at Calcutta and Presidency Small Causes Court at Calcutta till October 28, 2009.

            After qualifying in the Examination for Direct Recruitment to the cadre of District Judge (Entry Level) from the members of the Bar, joined W.B Judicial Service on October 29, 2009.

            Was posted as District and Sessions Judge, Malda, District and Sessions Judge, Howrah, District and Sessions Judge, Birbhum, District and Sessions Judge, Purba Mednipur, District and Sessions Judge, Purba Bardhaman and Chief Judge, City Sessions Court at Calcutta.

            Has discharged his duties as Principal Secretary, Law Department, Government of West Bengal, Principal Secretary, Judicial Department, Government of West Bengal and also in-charge of Legal Remembrancer, Govt. of West Bengal.

            Was elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court at Calcutta on August 31, 2022.
